At 1353 on 4 February, manpower was requested from Cayuga Heights to a structure fire in Brooktondale.  242 with 5 firefighters responded the 10 miles and assisted with extinguishment and overhaul in the two story residence.  The fire was contained to the addition in the rear.  Units on scene included Brooktondale, Slaterville, Danby, Ithaca, Varna, Cayuga Heights, and the County Fire Coordinator.

At around 0730 on 1 February, Lansing Fire Department requested the FAST Team from Cayuga Heights for a working house fire on Drake Rd.  While responding, Lansing upgraded their request to an additional engine and manpower.  CHFD provided the FAST Team and personnel for extinguishment and overhaul. The house suffered major fire damage.  In adddition to Lansing and Cayuga Heights, Genoa and King Ferry out of Cayuga county were on scene.  Thanks to IFD for standing by in our station to cover the district.

At 1428 on 12 January, Cayuga Heights was activated for a fire alarm at Sigma Chi on Cayuga Heights Rd.  202 arrived on scene and was informed by CHPD of a report of heavy smoke in the mechanical room.  A full structure fire assignment was requested bringing 2 engines from Ithaca and 1 engine from Lansing to the scene.  203 arrived on scene and secured the hydrant while crews sought out the source of the smoke.  The source was found to be a small outside fire just below the HVAC intake.  All units cleared and the road was reopened.

At about 0745 24 December, CHFD was summoned to a structure fire on Hillside Drive in the Town of Dryden.  15 CHFD personnel responded and assisted with a FAST Team and interior operations.  The Ithaca Journal article and source of the below pictures are here . 

At 1327 on 16 December, Lansing Fire Department requested an engine and ladder from Cayuga Heights for smoke filling the Rite Aid in Cayuga Mall.  231 and 203 responded with 11 personnel.  231 was assigned to head to the rear and ladder the roof to investigate.  203 secured the hydrant at the front of the building and assisted the crew from 1101 with interior operations, finding smoke in Rite Aid and adjacent Dollar  Store.  After an exhaustive search, the source was found to be a burning HVAC motor that had filled the building with smoke.  CHFD units were released after about 1 hour.

At 0822 on December 6, Lansing Fire Department requested an engine and ladder from Cayuga Heights for a working barn fire on Auburn Rd.  202 and 231 responded with 14 total personnel.  Crews assisted personnel and apparatus from Lansing, Genoa, and Locke with fire suppression and overhaul.  There were no injuries.
