CHFD Recruitment Information​​

 

CHFD is recruiting new members for our Fall 2026 Probationary Class! The Cayuga Heights Fire department is a 100% volunteer organization providing emergency response to the Village of Cayuga Heights, portions of the Town of Ithaca, and to sections Cornell University.

 

The department is comprised of local area residents and undergrad and graduate students. No prior experience is necessary. All training, equipment, and uniforms are provided at no cost to our members.

If being a volunteer Firefighter interests you, please RSVP for the recruit info dinner for the fall class at 6:00 p.m. on September 17th.

 

Email membership@chfd.net to RSVP and provide us with your contact information. Please also include your local address and some basic information about yourself in your email.

A link to our online membership application form will be provided to attendees following the dinner, as well as on our homepage.​

As a member of CHFD, you will have the opportunity to serve the community, receive nationally recognized fire and EMS training, develop leadership skills, and become part of a proud tradition of volunteer service.
