🚒 Join the Cayuga Heights Fire Department – Fall 2026 Recruit Class 🚑

The Cayuga Heights Fire Department is now recruiting volunteers for our Fall 2026 Recruit Class!

We are looking for individuals who are interested in serving their community by providing fire protection and emergency medical services. Our department is staffed by a unique combination of local community members and Cornell University students who work together to provide around-the-clock emergency response to the Village of Cayuga Heights and surrounding communities.

Whether you are interested in firefighting, emergency medical services, or both, CHFD offers an excellent opportunity to make a difference while developing valuable skills and lifelong friendships.

No prior experience is necessary. All training, equipment, and uniforms are provided at no cost to our members. Our experienced instructors and officers will guide you through every step of the training process.

The recruitment process begins with our Recruit Information Dinner, where prospective members will have the opportunity to meet current firefighters and EMS providers, tour the station, and learn more about the department. Detailed information about the training process, membership expectations, volunteer opportunities, and the various ways members serve the community will be covered during the evening. A link to the online membership application will be provided to attendees following the dinner.
