Courageous and Strong

CHFD firefighters Justina and Pallavi hosted Girl Scout Troop 40226 at our fire station this past Sunday to help them earn their Courageous and Strong badges.

The Troop learned what it takes to be a volunteer firefighter/EMT and the important contributions and leadership roles women are in at our fire department.

Reading your post about being courageous and strong really pulled me into that quiet moment we all face when something feels bigger than we ever expected where heart and grit have to meet, step by step, to turn uncertainty into confidence. It reminded me of nights I’m tackling a demanding workload and wish, just for a breath, that someone could take my online course for me, not to skip the learning, but to give me a moment’s pause so I can come back with clearer focus and renewed energy. Your words were a powerful reminder that courage isn’t about never struggling it’s about showing up again and again, even when it feels tough.

I was really moved by this story — your reflections on courage and strength feel heartfelt and make the message resonate on a personal level. Reading it during a busy study week made me smile, because there were moments I seriously wanted someone could take my online exam for me just to give me a little mental space to sit with uplifting posts like this a bit longer.
