Recruiting Volunteer Firefighters / Fall 2025 Recruit Class

CHFD is recruiting new members for our Fall 2025 Probationary Class! The Cayuga Heights Fire department is a 100% volunteer organization providing fire and ALS emergency medical services to the Village of Cayuga Heights, portions of the Town of Ithaca, and to sections of Cornell University.

The department is comprised of local area residents and undergrad and graduate students. All required gear and training is provided, free-of-charge to volunteers.

If being a volunteer Firefighter/EMT interests you, please RSVP for the recruit info dinner for the fall class at 6:30 p.m. on September 26th.

Email membership@chfd.net to RSVP and provide us with your contact information. Please also include your local address and some basic information about yourself in your email.

Applications for membership will be filled out at the recruit dinner. We will send further details upon hearing from you.

Dates for recruitment are as follows:

Recruit Info Dinner: September 26th at 6:30 p.m. at the Cayuga Heights Fire Station

Interviews: September 30th

Recruit Class Day 1: October 17th - 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Recruit Class Day 2: October 18th – 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Recruit Class Day 3: October 19th – 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.
